The Barbados flag's design was
chosen as a result of a contest. The gold color represents the
island's beaches. The blue on each side represent the ocean and
sky which surround the island. Neptune's trident stands for the
peoples link with the sea. The three points on the trident stand
for the three principles of Democracy; from the people, for the
people and by the people.
Each flag shown is
the flag used by that
nation's government and displayed at the U.N.
headquarters. Where noted the "civil" flag is also
available. It is identical to the "government" flag except
the seal is omitted.
Flags for Outdoor use are made of 100% heavyweight
nylon and finished with strong canvas headings and brass
grommets.
