The Danish flag is one of the
oldest flags in continuous use. It is called the Dannebrog (the
spirit of Denmark) by the citizens of Denmark. Legend says that
the colors and design were chosen by king Valdemar as a result of
a vision he saw the day before the battle of Lyndanisse.
Each
flag shown is the flag used by that
nation's government and displayed at the U.N.
headquarters. Where noted the "civil" flag is also
available. It is identical to the "government" flag except
the seal is omitted.
Flags for Outdoor use are made of 100% heavyweight
nylon and finished with strong canvas headings and brass
grommets.
