The white disc in the middle represents the
sun and containing a red Osmanli (Turkish) crescent and a
five-pointed star - the two ancient symbols of Islam. The
shape of the waxing moon (from the point of view of an Arab
observer of the flag) bribgs luck. Red became a symbol of
resistance against Turkish supremacy
Each flag shown is
the flag used by that
nation's government and displayed at the U.N.
headquarters. Where noted the "civil" flag is also
available. It is identical to the "government" flag except
the seal is omitted.
Flags for Outdoor use are made of 100% heavyweight
nylon and finished with strong canvas headings and brass
grommets.
