
The Algerian flag has been in use since the
1920s but not adopted until 1962. The green represents the
color of Islam, the white symbolizes purity and the red
represents freedom through bloodshed. The Crescent and Star
are symbols of Islam.

available. It is identical to the "government" flag except
the seal is omitted.
