
The Argentine flag was
designed in 1812 by General Manuel Belgrano. He chose the
colors from the cockade of the liberation army's uniform. The
Sun of May on the flag represents the sun as seen on May 25,
1810 when the independence demonstrations began.

nation's government and displayed at the U.N.
headquarters. Where noted the "civil" flag is also
available. It is identical to the "government" flag except
the seal is omitted.
