The colors of the Austrian flag date to the
twelfth century. Legend has it that the colors were taken from
the blood stained tunic of the Duke Leopold V during the third
crusades

headquarters. Where noted the "civil" flag is also
available. It is identical to the "government" flag except
the seal is omitted.
Flags for Outdoor use are made of 100% heavyweight
nylon and finished with strong canvas headings and brass
grommets.
