The Cyprus flag contains a
copper colored map of the island. Cyprus is the Greek word for
copper. The two crossed olive branches are a symbol for the
longing for peace between the Greeks and the turks. The white
background is also a sign of peace.
Each
flag shown is the flag used by that
nation's government and displayed at the U.N.
headquarters. Where noted the "civil" flag is also
available. It is identical to the "government" flag except
the seal is omitted.
Flags for Outdoor use are made of 100% heavyweight
nylon and finished with strong canvas headings and brass
grommets.
